Medication can help alleviate the symptoms of depression, but it doesn’t always treat its causes. The FDA-approved generic drugs for depression are as efficient as their brand-name counterparts. Generics tend to cost less than brand names.
By and large, antidepressants work very well, especially when accompanied by talk therapy. Most people on antidepressants report that their symptoms such as sorrow, loss of interest and despair improve eventually. But the results aren’t immediate, so you’ll have to be patient.
